New Feature Request

Sometimes my wife and I will watch a live broadcast episode of Friends on the extender before going to sleep at night. When the show ends we stop the playback of the show and turn off the tv.

Morning rolls around and our son wants to watch one of his programs before heading out for the day. If my wife turns on the show for him, we inevitably seem to wind up with Friends setup as a series recording and 1/2 a dozen episodes recorded by the evening. If on the other hand, I turn on the show for him this does not happen.

I noticed that when I turn on the TV in the morning, the menu option is highlighted on the "Record Series" option which makes alot of sense. My wife is most likely button mashing the remote to get out of the screen saver and inadvertantly also enabling the series recording.

Would it be possible to get an option where after x amount of minutes, if there is no active playback happening Sage would return to the root of the main menu?

There is no "Record Series" option in the stock UI. Sounds like a SageMC thing.

It certainly would be possible to implement such an auto-home feature, but if you're using SageMC then it won't do you much good to add that feature to the stock UI.

1. This isn't a request forum. File a request through the bug tracking system if you want Sage to actually see it. If it's not a Sage-specific request then you'll need to contact your plugin developer as Greg mentioned.

2. Why don't you turn off the extender when you're done watching your live episode? When you turn it back on, it will *always* come back at the main menu.

1. It seemed like as good a place as any to spark some discussion and see if there were any alternatives to a new feature being developed.

2. If my wife can't wait for the screen saver to clear, you think she wants to wait for it to power up?

I've been using SageMC for so long that I forget what the stock UI does vs. SageMC.
