HD300 LED brightness level?

Are the front LEDs dimmer than the HD-200? The HD-200 green flashing LED was too annoying and I covered it up with black tape. The red LED was also too bright and I covered up about 75% of the LED with black tape.

Quoted from GeekTonics Review:

Double the memory of the HD200 (1024MB total) – this increases the number of imported files allowed in media player mode to around 100,000 compared to the 15,00 of the HD200. And in extender mode this should improve speed as well.
1.5 times faster processor (600 MHz processor speed) than the HD200
The LED power light on front is more subdued and doesn’t blink constantly like the HD200 – answering another complaint of the HD200.
The SMP8654 inside of the HD300 includes Macrovision/Content Protection support. This opens the door for Netflix and other streaming services which require such support. You’ll note that the WDTV Live Plus that has the same board has Netflix streaming which is a good sign for a future feature. No guarantees, but I’m hopeful. Still I recommend you assume it won’t happen and perhaps we’ll be pleasantly surprised.

As my review said the LED light is much much better. And the blinking, network indicator light is now located in the back - I didn't even notice that light in the back until someone mentioned it to me.

I don't think you'll need the tape to cover it this time.

With the IR extender, you can put the HD-300 someplace where you can't see it. This is good (you don't see the LEDs) and bad (you can't tell if it is off or you TV is slow in syncing with the signal). I am looking at mounting mine, via Velcro, to the back of my TV and running the IR cable to the front.

From the store's web page (http://store.sagetv.com/mm5/merchant...tegory_Code=HD), it is 5 feet.

I can get you photos of the new, I don't have the old setup to compare it to. Of course, will wait until tonight for dark version.

The obvious next question is what are you doing with your sister-in-law in a room at night, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to know the answer.

Wow-that wound up in the gutter faster than a runaway Toyota. Didn't even see it coming.
