HD-200 Frozen after Firmware Update - Factory Reset fails

Just did an upgrade to latest firmware of my HD200. Upon rebooting, the Sage TV logo appear in the middle of the screen, the red light is steady, the green light is on and go off for a few tenth of a second and back on for a few seconds.

No response from the infrared remote.
powering off does not help.
Powering off and turning on holding down the del key on the remote initiated a different and longer boot sequence:

- Red light does goes on and off
- Once the Del key is not depressed a few minutes passes and then the logo come back. Nothing else occurs.

Any tricks, tips, beers for me?

I encountered the same problem earlier today. It took me a couple of tries using the delete key before I regained control. When you say "Powering off" are you disconnecting the powe? I think that is different than using the power key on the remote.
I did not see the green light because I was using the wireless adaptor.
What was the longer boot sequence you saw? You should get a new message asking if you want to use the auto config or do a manual config.

Did it with unplugging it from the wall. So this was done correctly. This being said, I attempt it just 2-3 times. Will try again.

Thanks

Over ten times I cut power on it and put power back on it holding the delete key on the remote. No luck.

Any other way to reset to factory default and erase this culprit firmware?

When you release the delete key, does the red light continue to flash? When I did it, the light continued to flash for several minues until I saw the prompt.

Unplug both the power and the network. Plug the power back in and see if it boots up with the network STILL UNPLUGGED.

Unfortunately, all attempts, with and without an Ethernet Cable connected, with and without a USB drive connected failed.

What are my next steps? Sending it to Sage?

Thanks

Should the red light start flashing or both lights? For me red light started flashing, now it is completely off and green light flashes every 15 to 20 seconds and is solid in between.

Is this an issue with beta update?

I think only the red light is important. Since I usually use the wireless adaptor, I do not see the green light most of the time. When connect the ethernet wire I do see a solid green and I believe it would flash if data was being transferred using the ethernet cable.

I think getting stuck at the splash screen may be a beta issue but hard to tell. It may be to force the cleaning of the configuration parameters due to the new prompt that was added. I believe the only documentation of the new prompt is in the HD300 manual. It may be possible that the stuck condition may be caused by the state of the tv on some other hardware in in use. I believe the HD300 manual says to turn on all before powering on the HD300. I am not sure my TV was on when I first installed the update and saw that it was stuck on the splash screen. But after I pwered off the HD200, I am not sure since I use a harmony remote that turn on my devices together. There may be something in the release notes about this new start up message that I overlooked. I also noticed that with the new fireware I was forced to change my wireless adaptor password for lowercase to uppercase.

Just had something similar happen to me. Got stuck at "erasing 9/28" panicked and read the manual. Factory reset failed. Quite unhappy, as this is a relatively new unit, I came here. Am trying the server based method now. I hope I have the same result as you .
