HD300 compared to HD200?

I just noticed the new HD300! where have i been?

I can't find a hard-and-fast changelog between it and the 200. Is such a document posted anywhere? I've been reading the posts -- I'd like to know more about what's been upgraded / what it can do that my 200s cant.
(other than --not-- have things stacked on it. )
any links?

thanks!

Not sure if you have read this but Brent has done a good review that covers differences :-

Anything in particular? The review should cover everything I could think of.

I don't know, that's the problem. Some kind of concise summary, such as a grid that says, say, the formats the old version could read versus the added formats for the new one, things like that.

I don't have such a summary, but in short:

The HD300 is like this compared to HD200:
Faster CPU
More Memory
Same format support plus HD Audio formats
Smaller & different form factor
Cheaper
No S-Video Port on HD300
HDMI 1.3 instead of 1.2
Better

HD200 Side by Side with HD300

A quick request. I have looked a bit but have not found this.

Can SageTV provide a side by side technical/performance comparison of these two units???

Could anyone who had an HD200 and now has an HD300 provide some perspective on the added benefits, value, functionality and performance of the new unit vs the old???

I have seen posts that the HD300 is better with faster performance, but as a viewer, what does this mean to me???

OK, I've owned 2 HD200's for the past year and have been using my new HD-300 for the past couple weeks. Here's what I notice:

Much faster startup. It would (sometimes) take more than 30 secs for my 200's to connect to the server and give me the beta 7 menu. The 300 does it so fast, it's usually displaying the menu by the time the old CRT SDTV can display the picture!

Seems more responsive to menu changes, and more dependable operation.
Smaller package and slightly less heat than the 200.

Uh, that's about it.
I plan to move it upstairs and connect it to the big screen HDTV, but as I'm using an optical connect to the surround sound receiver there, even the 1.3 HDMI and HD audio down link won't be doing me any good.

I suspect I'll be using the HD300 as a loaner to folks who are considering Sage. In fact, it's going to a friend this weekend who is unhappy with his <other vendor> purchase.

I should be getting commissions!
