Saving filters for a view

Is there a way to save an applied filter to a view so that next time that view is visited the filter will be remembered?

By default I'd like to go into a view and just see all my regular Hollywood movies and not kids movies, workout DVDs and archived movies. I guess I could just go into the Filters view and pick a filter to view but being able to define a default filter for all views would be nice too.

Which type of filter are you referring too?

When in the options for a view I go to quick filters and pick one of the options there. In the view I now see only the movies that apply to that filter.

I'd like a way to be able to remember those settings next time I go to My Movies but haven't found a way. I thought creating a custom view was the approach but that didn't work either.

A ha! I just found the Custom View Wiki and think I know what I was doing wrong.

I'm going to try creating a custom view again to see if my filters will stick.

The quick filters don't stick but when we get dynamic menus it will resolve your want for now it would be easier to just use the filters view
