Video freeze/moving directory

I built a HTPC and have been running SageTV but not watching much due to a playback issue. When I playback the recordings, the audio continues fine but the video freezes for a second or two. I have a C: drive with 372 GB with both the SageTV program and the video directory on it and a D: drive with 698 GB (not used yet, wondering if I should upgrade to 1TB or more). I assume the load of the program and video playback is causing the momentary pauses with the head jumping around.

I have read thru the FAQ 20 times or more but I can't figure out if I can just drag the old directory ( c:/Valued Customer/Videos/SageTv) to the D: drive. I tried creating a new directory within SageTV but it didn't seem to take. Then I see with the FAQ that I should make backup copies of wiz.bin and sage.properties and do some editing within the files. Seems a bit complicated to me.

Any suggestions appreciated.
