Looks great, but I have a question - could I run this without any metadata-fetching plugins added? If I just had folders on my hard drive with backgrounds and banners (that I obtained myself, either from websites or packages that people posted here back in the v6 days), could this theme use those in the appropriate places?

Looks very slick, BTW.

Right now it requires BMT. You can't get the season and episode metadata without it. Even in folder I wouldn't have any way of getting show descriptions and such.

Just dive into BMT, then you won't need to worry

This looks awesome! Once this update is out I really will have no reason not to switch to 7! Once you get to the season page do you drill down again once you select a season to see all episodes? If so , any chance we can see that screen too

Although BMT is great it does have a learning curve with it's naming convention and such.

Can't wait, great job Plucky and Jorton!

One quick question. I noticed in the latest screen shots that the Last Watched and Next were always the same. Is this because the episode was not watched completely?

Correct in my dummy setup most videos aren't watched completely. If it isn't watched completely it comes up as next because it isn't finished

Couldn't agree more on all accounts. It does look awesome and I'm wondering the exact same thing.

I am going to hold you to that!!!

A couple of pages back I showed the episode screen. You can sort by episode number and have them displayed or not and it gets rid of the redundant Title on each bar.

Go right ahead. But, hold me to what? I'm already on V7.

You mean the 2nd screenshot here? So, in essence, the left, group list simply changes into the episode list?

Correct in essence and you can have the season drilldown there or just ignore it and go straight to list of episodes your choice. As well as banners can be turned on/off independently IE you can use banners in the series view and text in the season list.

I am sure there will be a couple of things I missed but it seems to be working well in my and JOrton's testing.

Got it. The one thing that I think may (big emphasis there ) annoy me a little bit is the size of the selection area for the episodes. Considering there are no banners, they seem huge. They definitely seem the right size for the grouping, so I wouldn't want to shrink those down in order to have smaller episode listings. As always, I'm comparing to TVE, since I still use that today. There, the episode list has a selection area which is almost exactly the same height as the episode text. Obviously, this allows more episodes to show at once.

Just an observation from someone who has yet to even use this theme. I'll certainly be giving it a fair chance when I try it out for the first time, just like I did with SageTV V7, as I switched away from SageMC. However, even then, I still couldn't leave my beloved TVE behind in V7. (Neither could the wife, BTW.)

Gotcha, is that screen pretty much what it looks like for the episode list? Seems quite a lot of extra space in there. Is it possible to squish them a little to get more on the screen? Squish isn't quite what i mean though, something more like the view in that same post with the banners and the episodes listed to the right here . . . Just nit picking now, i'm totally gonna use this regardless! Keep it goin, looks great!

edit, Skirge beat me to it. TVE is kinda where i was going too!

As far as changing spacing and such what you guys have to realize is this is meant to tie in with the default as much as possible and all that stuff is the default spacing and behavior. We are trying not to change that stuff as some won't be using the diamond tv options but will be using the diamond theme so we need everything to work as much as possible together

that being said you can shrink the episode list a bit by adding more rows to it to show more episodes.

cheers

Gotcha, since i don't use 7 default yet, then a quick question. on the screen i posted above with the banners and the episode list to the right, is that default? If so, is it possible to arrow over to the right to get onto that list of episodes and launch them from there? Because if so, then from the season banner if the shows displayed on the right like they do in the default (Showing whichever season was highlighted), to me that would work too.

Obviously if thats not how it works, then I will just use it the way you suggested and make it display more rows to shrink the text.
