Looking at the default STV, it seems like most places it uses those calls it uses IF() statements to decide which one returns a valid value. Makes me wonder if they shouldn't be consolidated into one function that makes that determination in the backend.

yeah agreed it appears I should be doing the same I will add that to the java code and do my own check. Would you log that for me on googlecode so I don't forget after the holidays. Also interesting on getshowduration api it does state

Quote:
Returns the duration of the specified Show. Most Shows do not contain duration information, with the exception of movies whose show duration indicates the runing time of the movie.
So looks like airing duration should be used more often then not.

I have either 0min or 1min for all my movies in the wall or flow, the Sagetv "Video Detail" info screens show the correct duration.

So far, I can't duplicate the Video Menu issue, where you turn off the Wall and Flow in the Diamond Options on the Main Menu and have the navigation errors.

Is there a way to remove some of the menu options that I don't want? For example, play on, etc?

Also, I'd like to force the system to regenerate my thumbnails. What's the best way to do that? How do I force phoenix to rebuild?

Phoenix isn't doing it either. Sage determines itself if a restart it needed and usually only Does it if a jar file is changed. There is no way to force sagetv to restart.

Are you trying to determine if a restart is needed, or just do a restart? There are Restart() and ServerRestart() API calls if you really want to perform a restart. But, you should at least confirm it with the user and warn if a recording is currently in progress.

But, I think the talk of restarting was in reference to image loading, right? In that case, adding code to your plugin to force a restart is probably overkill. The only time you might need to restart in that case is if you are trying to change an image file that was already loaded. You can get around that when updating your theme by either 1) using a different theme name so the path to the image is different, or 2) changing the name of the image file & its matching reference in the theme.properties file. Also, the changed file will get reloaded at some point anyway w/o a restart once it gets removed from the image cache & then gets referenced again, so it will eventually get updated in the UI.

Thanks, I'll look forward to it. Also, any disc loaded into the DVD drive shows up in movies as well.

But otherwise, the theme just looks so darn gooood....

Interesting.. I wonder if this is somehow related to my "Unknown" video that is showing up with no details. I recently installed virtual clone drive to load an iso up, wonder if thats what Diamond is seeing and thinking there is a DVD loaded when there isnt.

I am seeing a time of 0 for all my movies in the cover flow and wall screens.

Also, any idea why when in the "Folders" view and I look at my movies I am not seeing the cover art next to the movie name? I am seeing background images, but the cover art is the generic "DVD" logo.

No we don't modify that view at all.

Like Plucky said the Folders view is default Sagetv.

You need to have .jpg covers saved with the same filename as the movie. BMT (or mymovies collection manager if you use SageMyMovies) can save those for you, there is an option to save jpg's in BMT for all your shows and there is a setting mymovies collection manager that will do this automatically.

Yeah it was more asking why we don't restart after install like phoenix does. I was more refering to we don't control when sagetv calls a restart on plugin install.

Hi, I have BMT working OK with my setup but there is one thing I cant seem to solve - I used the Web UI to manually find a show on tvdb. All worked well and it downloaded fanart - I checked and banners, posters etc are all there in the fanart directory. When I go into Recordings on Sage and position to the show I get the background but not the series banner. I have it enabled as an option, and I know its working as some of my other Recorded series show the banners.

I was hoping that I could get all recordings either TV series, single recording or movie to display a banner (I think thats the right term?) in the recording menu.

Does anyone have any suggestions to track this down ?

Thanks

I answered in the bmt thread diamond doesn't currently get banners for singles show episodes this will be added feature after the holidays.

Also there are no banners for movies and will never be because they aren't available. Movies in the next build will be moved into diamond wall and diamond flow and out of tv.

Ok, for some reason I'm not getting all of the images scaled when I go to the Wall and Flow views for the first time.

If I clear the cache folder I can cause it to start again but it never does all of the movies. Is there a way to force it to process again (other than clearing the cache)? Can I force it to scale?

I observe this as well.

However, this is shaping up to be an awesome looking and functioning theme/ UI mod!

Thanks!

So I noticed that the posters stopped showing at the same place every time. After I dug into this a bit further, the appear to be hanging on some recordings that are "not real" in the movie list.

For some reason, there are four "files". Each time I restart Sage the file names change and they change locations in the list (it's alphabetical). When the DiamondUI gets to these files it causes the following in the logs:

Code:

It looks like something is causing the interface to pick up files that aren't in my library. I search for this mpgbuf file and it doesn't exist on my system so I have no idea where Sage is getting this from. Does anyone have any ideas? It's quite odd.

There is a logged issue with the tuners showing up in the Wall and Flow, this will be fixed after Christmas when are back into Studio mode

Plucky will probably laugh at me trying to help but hopefully the fix for the above issue will clear up the fanart caching issue as well.

Cheers,

Jeremy

AHH! So these are my tuners! I didn't realize because they were all named after shows.

I also have an "unknown" when I change the filter to just DVDs so I'll probably have to figure that one out too.

The four "files" only show when I have "videos" selected.

Thanks for the update. By the way, this is a great interface for Sage. It works well and has a nice look to it.
