Anyone care for a list view or to give their feedback on one?

Still a work in progress and it is inspired by a XMBC theme with our own diamond look feel Still a couple of images to be made. The rating can be turned on/off to allow more room for titles if that is your cup of tea.

View it Big

cheers

Also the posters scroll with the list kind of have to see it in action to get it fully.

GREAT

This is the part we are waiting for to make Diamond the key plugin we use for TV and SOON movies with this list view... great work.

Hope we can see it in ACTION soon

One comment... perhaps the Year could be displayed on the right (instead of Writers perhaps). you could also optionally not display the captions for Rated and Runtime as they are likely self explanatory if you just see PG-13 and 1:45

May I suggest 3 options... Blank, Rating, Year... that may work for more people then (I love options where possible).

Will the Details screen also be available for each movie?

Do I assume correctly that the focused movie item is always in the middle of the menu centered with the poster? If so... how does it look when you are at the beginning of the list (Apollo 13 for example)?

Can I ask what filtering you are planning to release with this view?

Blank was already an options which stretches out the list.

Correct. The list wraps currently so you would see the last movie at the top.

Same as current diamond movies/videos views
  • DVD
  • BluRay
  • Videos
  • Watched

New filters in the works are
  • Hulu
  • Netflix
  • Folders excluded and included. (doesn't work in current build hoping to get it in the next build.

Plus some secrets up our sleeve

What about a "Newly Released" and "Newly Added"(to Library) filters. Newly released could sort on the date the movie released that was scraped from BMT.

I often see folks with big libraries using these to help them get to the movies they want to see faster..

If this exist already pardon my ignorance and if you could let me know how to do it, that would be awesome! thanks.

The list view looks very good and is a view I find very functional. I mentioned in a previous post, and a feature request was logged, about using the remote numbers to jump to certain titles. I think this would be a nice feature for the list view since the movie titles are shown.

If it is already logged no need to mention it again doesn't mean we will get to it in the next build ad we have to prioritize but we are aware of all issues logged.

This may or may not be something that can be handled within Diamond (and if it is available with some other plugin, I would love to know).

In TV Browser (which is very simple, but very useful), the developer set the Options button to change sort orders. Is there a way to put sort order as a button press in the recordings menu instead of going through the Options menu?

I'm using the MBDiamond v.1.63 theme on both my desktop install of SageTV7 and an HD300 (in extender mode).
I love they way it looks on the desktop, but it is somewhat different (and not as visually nice) on the HD300 - mainly that the sub-menus are too small and don't have a frame around them that creates the highlighted button effect you get on the desktop. On the HD300, the sub-menu selection just increases the size of the selected text...no highlighting.

I'm new to SageTV so this may be something easy to fix that I haven't found yet.

Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks!

Fixed it...I had previously installed Diamond for Default Sagetv7 STV v2.03 Beta on the HD300, but in rechecking, it was not enabled. Once I enabled it, everything looks great...just like the version running on my desktop.

The List View from your old Sage Movie Wall was sorely missed when I changed the Sage box to 7 from MC. This should help make the other half happy..

Is there anything in the works like abc bar in MC (the bar that was onl the right that let you jump to any letter)?

Any plans to start using Episode Specific Fanart when it exists? BMT does a good job pulling this down but I don't think anything uses it as of yet.

So I see where it is now. Just a few things I think could be improved or fixed. First when i sort on "Present to to 1900" not everything is sorted correctly. For instance Sex And The City 2 (5-27-10 release) is listed before Inception(7-16-10 release date). Because inception came out later it should be listed first. I Havel also verified BMT has these correct dates stored in the "original air date" field.

Second, using "Present to 1900" isnt as simple as just "Release date" and I assume "Newest first"(or "Oldest first") really means "Date Added". Those descriptions are more intuitive. You might have chose these terms because of how you have the "reverse sort order option". But if u get rid of the specificity in your option descriptions ("A to Z", "newest/oldest",etc..)I think it would flow better
