unable to play english language track

one of my clients refuses to play the english track through sage. I can play the same file with media player classic just fine. These are blu ray rips that were ripped using makemkv. I have another client that plays them fine. any suggestions on where to start looking? I already tried selecting the english language track while the movie is playing and it just gives me no sound at all.

I'm going to make a few assumptions:

1. Your client is hooked directly to a television either via HDMI and/or composite connection
2. Your English Soundtrack is actually in DTS and not Dobly Digital
3. Your audio decoder is NOT down sampling the DTS to stereo sound for your tv to understand*

* That is my guess is your problem.

1. client is connected to the tv via DVI/HDMI cable for video and a DTS capable receiver and optical for audio. This could easily be the problem, I will have to check the config...if I can figure out where it is.

2. English is DTS. Other tracks are AC3 according to sage

3. audio decoder shouldn't be downsampling. I am running a 2.1 setup out of the receiver...but I understand you didn't have enough information for this one.

so no direct resolution but you did provide me some routes to check out, thanks
