Installing over v6 on Win 7

I've been reviewing the upgrade instructions for the beta, anticipating the installation of v7 on my win 7 system as soon as it goes "official". One thing I noticed is that the instructions appear to assume you are running v6 on WinXP or earlier. I say that because they talk about backing up "the" Sage directory. However, in a Vista or Win 7 environment, there are effectively two Sage directories. One is located (by default) at C:\Program Files\Sage, while the other is buried down under C:\Users\<username>\<I forget the rest of the path offhand>.

This isn't a problem with Sage per se, it's just a result of tightened Windows security in Vista and Win 7.

However, given this bifurcation, I presume I should backup both Sage directories? Also, does Sage v7 "know" to delete the C:\Users\... stuff?

You would want to back up both. The files in the virtual store are usally files that have been customized by the settings so Sage would not delete them. Sage does not delete all the files on a uninstall. (which is done on an install over existing.)
