Some of these are already in the included feeds. I can look into adding the rest for the next online video update, unless you prefer having them all in your custom category?

Sure having them built in would be better :-)

Some of the existing feeds listed in the "Science-Tech" category are outdated. For example, "Systm" was canceled more than a year ago. PBS e^2 has not had any new content since 2008 and The Hidden Epidemic since 2007. Is it possible to remove some of these outdated feeds? It is my opinion that these clutter up the category with useless content feeds since they seem to lead to dead ends.

Content from TWiT.TV, REV3, and a few other podcasters that are still around may be more relevant.

PS: I know that many of the REV3 shows are already listed.

Thanks, SB

Like other issues in SageTV, submit the problem feeds to SageTV (and they would get forwarded on to me). I would probably also see posts reporting such feeds on the forum. I made a note of the above post for future reference when I next update the feeds.

A lot of those outdated feeds still provide results, so the automatic check for dead feeds won't find them.

Done

Release 7.1
  • Added TWiT Live Video Feed (Low Quality)
  • Added TWiT Live Video Feed (Hi Quality) *

* Please note that at this time, the "Hi Quality" feed is not working properly.
You can see this problem directly on the http://live.twit.tv site when you select the Hi quality BitGravity feed.
So the problem lies in the feed, not the link.

*** UPDATE 2010-11-14
FYI, I checked today and the "Hi Quality" feed is working properly now.

I have been useing this for a long time and can confirm it still works fine for me.
I was hoping to find a way to edit the shows in the feed.

Exclamation Manually editing the TWiT Video Feeds

You can modify the following two files to update your TWiT feeds:

<sagetv>/STVs/SageTV7/CustomOnlineVideoLinks_TWiT.properties
<sagetv>/STVs/SageTV7/CustomOnlineVideoUIText_TWiT.properties

Thanks. Looks interesting.

Are these files supposed to fully download before playing, or start playing during the download?

I haven't tinkered with it much, but it did take 9 minutes for this to start playing:
Code:
Sat 4/23 7:53:26.599 [FileDownload@4fea6f56] Detected MP4 ISO stream downloading...
Sat 4/23 8:01:22.096 [FileDownload@4fea6f56] Read -1 bytes from the URL stream; download has completed
Sat 4/23 8:01:22.225 [FileDownload@4fea6f56] VF.submitJob(VFJob[InactiveFile r=0.0 t=0 file=null ifn=/tmp/OnlineVideo7915133189666659298.flv])
Sat 4/23 8:01:22.225 [FileDownload@4fea6f56] VF.submitJob(VFJob[InactiveFile r=0.0 t=0 file=null ifn=/tmp/OnlineVideo7915133189666659298.flv])
Sat 4/23 8:01:22.226 [FileDownload@4fea6f56] Download completed for files server=http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp4/cdn.twit.tv/video/twig/twig0348/twig0348_h264m_1280x720_1872.mp4 src=null dest=/tmp/OnlineVideo7915133189666659298.flv abort=false
Not sure if that is by design, or if the original video file has something to do with it.

thanks
Matt

There's only one feed there I didn't see - the studio LIVE feed, which used to have a link. Is it there and I just missed it?
