No I had removed the live feed because it was broken.
I have since found a way to get them working again by replacing the feed aggregator.

I need to do a little bit more testing and then I'll post the update tomorrow.

Thanks, Robert

Are these files supposed to fully download before playing, or start playing during the download?

I haven't tinkered with it much, but it did take 9 minutes for this to start playing:
Code:

Not sure if that is by design, or if the original video file has something to do with it.

thanks
Matt
Hi Matt,

No, its not supposed to do a full download. Mine is taking about 10-15 seconds to start playing video and audio (on an HD300 running SageTV v7). Not sure what;s going on or what's different. Which Show and Episode are you trying and I can try the same here.

Thanks!

Lightbulb Version Update! Version 7.5

Version 7.5 has just been updated in the plugin repository.
  • This update adds the TWiT.tv live feeds (HD & SD).
  • This update adds distinct channels for SD feeds and HD feeds.
  • This update implements lower resolution thumbnail images to optimize GUI loading times.

I just tried this episode on my HD300 extender and it worked OK for me. The video buffered for a few seconds and then began playing in about 10 seconds.

I also just updated the plugin to include a separate channel for HD stream and SD streams. The previous version was HD streams only. You may try the SD channel to see if it behaves any differently on your system.

Hi -

I updated the plugin and tried one of the SD feeds. It did the same thing - fully downloaded before playing.

I wonder if it's a linux thing?

(to be honest, i haven't used the online menu in years so i don't really know if other sites/video files do this too. Will have to check.)

Confirmed - I clicked on both the HD stream for Macbreak Weekly, and the newly added (nicely done thanks) HD live stream.

Both loaded and played within about 5 seconds on my AMD Quad core Sagetv server.

Hi - just an update. While the SD streams seem good, I've streamed a couple of HD streams, and they are randomly jumpy and a little slow to sync, so I thought I'd try a SD stream to see if there was a difference, which there was.
When there was just ONE stream listed, I never had any problems with bandwidth/smoothness. Is it possible only the previous version you supplied were SD streams only?
The jumpiness and sync problems are random - I can start and re-start the same program and it may stream smoothly, or it may not

Yes, the prior version of the plugin only provided the "large" video streams from TWiT. I named these "SD" in the latest version of the plugin.

When I was updating I noticed that TWiT also now provides a higher bandwidth/resolution stream for all shows which they name as "hd". I added these streams and called them "HD" in the plugin.

I have not noticed any jumpiness on the HD streams in my limited testing, but I have not really used it for a long duration yet.

Old thread update - don't know if you're still administering this for SageTV v.9 open source, but if so...
Any luck on the live stream feeds? There's an icon for HD and SD, but no video. Error reads: 'The Requested media file was not found on the server'

thanks
