SMM installed and now a few questions
Hi,
Thanks for a great plugin. Finally got it working today after some struggles and works perfecly. Running headless WHS with HD300. Could not get SMM to install while installing via the HD300 UI. Kept getting the API failed error. My fix was to remote into the server and install plugin the via the UI there and then boot up HD300 and enabled. Works like a charm and very happy. Now I have a couple of questions and was hoping if someone could help me out as I am somewhat confused about something. I am using the 1.6.1 PR1 WHS MM Add-in. Does the Collection Managment program 3.18 PR1 have to be installed separately on the server or am I duplicating what the WHS MM Add-in already does? I have Collection Management installed on both my WHS server and a laptop client. Do I need it on the server is my question for it to continue working? Second, I would very much like to keep my family Home Videos separate from SMM, much like photos and music have there own path on the UI. Is there a UI mod out there that allows me to do this. I prefer the separation for a cleaner look. MyMovies for DVD movies only and Videos for Home Videos, etc. Thanks for a fantastic plugin and any help you can offer. William |

Not sure as to the WHS install but to the last question
Just exclude the home movies from collection management. Then choose the SMM option to remove movies from your import. Then your Videos tab will have the home movies, and mymovies will have your movies.

You are duplicating the mm whs addin. You don't need collection manager installed on a whs machine. The collection manager is meant to be installed on a client pc not the whs.

You don't really want the client on the WHS because then you have to remote into WHS to manage the collection. The collection manager is not necessary on WHS to run a extender connected to the WHS. As the WHS addin installs everything the extender needs to access. cheers |
