Jumpy behaviour
Just installed V7 - new user to Sage - got it all working then plugged in my HD300 and it isn't working right.
I connect to the server and start to play live tv - and I get it "pausing" every few seconds. The show will play for about 10 seconds, then pause for 2 seconds, then play, then pause. I even got the HD300 to crash (go from a blue light to a red light) once and had to unplug to get it all back. I notice if I go to the guide while the show is playing the guide will pause too for the 2 seconds (so it isn't just the stream pausing but the whole HD 300) Machine is a AMD 4 core GB network 8MEG ram Windows 7 Firmware on the HD300 is 20101007 (most recent it says) HDHomerun tuners but that shouldn't matter It all seems to work fine on the server itself - just the HD300 is pausing. I looked through my resources and all are under 30% consistently. Where do I start to look - what do I do next? |

It seems the behaviour is worse when trying to watch liveTV - the channel continues to pause and the machine is basically unresponsive (takes about 30 sec to stop playback after hitting stop button). The HD300 seems to cashe my remote presses, because when the livetv does stop all the buttons I pushed happen to the unit. Recordings look pretty good, not much stuttering, and video files have some stuttering but not as bad as live TV.
I tried to get logs - after following the directions I didn't get any files in my SageTV installation folder, but I was able to pull these two files out of the templogs directory, logs. I added the .txt to the messages file so it would upload correctly. |

What firmware of the HD300 are you running and what version of Sage? I saw references in the error log stating Sage 7.0.11? and that a new version of the firmware is available? Which says to me you are running the non-release version of Sage and a very old firmware on the HD300. If I am wrong, please let correct me (I haven't read thru the debugs in a while).

Version of Sage says 7.0.23.236 (I waited until the official release before downloading and installing - I believe this is the release version).
HD300 is 20101007 - which I believe is the last non-beta release of HD300 firmware - so I should be fully up-to-date (unless I need to put beta software on the HD300 to allow the new version of sage to work properly for me?) I'd give the BETA firmware a shot. You can always downgrade the firmware back if need be, but it is worth a shot.

Well - I don't like BETA stuff but put the BETA software on my HD300 and it works great - much more responsive and no jumpyness.
Can wait for HD300 firmware to go release. Thanks Paul!

Sorry - problems are back again.
When I try to play live TV or a recorded show on the HD300 I get the HD300 unresponsive, and the show constantly pauses (both audio and video), and then sometimes will play "quickly" to catch up, play for 5-10 sec then pause again. If I try to do anything on the remote (stop, pause, fwd) it seems like nothing is happening for about 15 seconds, then the action is taken. Once I am back in the user interace all seems to work ok. I have updated to the latest BETA software for HD300 and running release SageTV7. My resource Monitor on Windows 7 all shows very low stats for the machine. Possibly this is a problem with Nov 18 beta release (problems only started showing up today, but I upgraded software on Saturday from Oct 29 beta?) Anyone know any way to go back to Oct 29 beta? I have attached my log files. All works great from the client (or placeshifter) - just the HD300 is having problems.

Edit - didn't seem to keep working. Worked last night OK, but this morning again I am back into problems. I have tried both Oct 29 firmward reset and upgraded to most recent - no luck.
Lots of grey spinny circles, jumpy tv, slow response. Client and Placeshifter are fine, just HD300 has problems. Also to note - if I try to play back one of the mpgs from the sagetv folder through the HD300 non-sage interface it plays well. I don't know what to look for in the logs - can anyone give me anywhere I can look for solutions?
