Questions RE: HD-PVR Driver Version 1.5.7

I have been quite happy using driver version 1.0.5 on my Dish Network receiver. Unfortunately, I have become less and less impressed with Dish Network (5 DVR replacements in the last three years).

One of the features of the 1.5.7 driver is that is can now handle resolution changes while recording. Looking at the DirecTV receivers, they have a "native" mode that will change the receiver's output resolution to match the program (from 480i through 1080i).

This gives me two questions: 1) Is the 1.5.7 driver stable and 2) Does it really handle resolution switching?

Mounted a cooling fan on the STB after it failed the first time. It ran very hot.

I have had no problems with 1.5.7 or the previous version which was 1.5.6, I believe. It does seem to handle problems with resolution changes better as well as SPDIF audio as well.
