HD300 won't reboot after upgrade, issues with component video

Hello all! I'm having 2 issues with my HD300 and wasn't sure where to post the questions.

1. My HD300 won't reboot after firmware upgrades. I'll wait as long as 2 hours after it's done and it will never reboot. It doesn't matter what version of FW I'm using (beta or not). I have tried numerous times via the usual method in the settings-system update, and numerous times from the Service Menu. Only via the Service Menu can I tell when it's done and that it's stuck on "Rebooting" for hours.

2. I'm having issues playing imported videos over my component connection. In 720p mode a 1080i video has strange blocking during fast movement that is highly annoying (appears like deinterlacing issues). If I pause the video the artifacts are naturally gone. In 1080i mode I get strange flashes like the video is just barely going out of sync (doesn't matter what resolution the video is). It looks like the screen rolls over once or twice really fast and usually happens when flashing between bright and dark scenes, which is also highly annoying. My TV doesn't support 1080p in any format so I can't use that.

Also, just to point out that all my devices run thru my HDPVR so I can capture material. I know the HDPVR is really touchy on the incoming video stream and likes to do this flickering of the TV (rolling it over) when I switch inputs.

I watched a bluray rip from the HD300 in 1080i/component and captured it via the HDPVR, the screen flickers like crazy but the file that is captured is fine. This might be more of a problem with the HDPVR but no other component video devices I have cause this issue (especially not my HD200). Watching back that same file (now in 1080i and much smaller file size) at 1080i produces the flickering still, and at 720p the blocking. Makes me think the component out isn't quite to standard for some reason and the HD300 needs work to fix deinterlacing issues.

Any help suggestions are welcome. At this point I'm more concerned with #1 and eventually frying my HD300.

I had that problem with the HD 200 and I saw a post to unplug it, then hold the DELETE button on the remote down while plugging it back in and wait for the light to blink twice and it fixes it. I did have to turn it of again but it fixed everything.

That goes into the service menu unfortunately and I've been there a lot lately! Thanks for the suggestion!

I think you have to hold the BACK button down to get in service mode on the HD 300. I have the HD 200 in component video with no problem. I'm running the HD 300 with HDMI with no problems like that. I should also mention that I run all my videos through my server so maybe that makes a difference. Make sure if you have cables that your internet cable connectors are solid without problems and not under any heavy material or spiked mats, etc.
