Jittery playback of MP4 file

I am having problems playing back an MP4 file on my HD-200 extender or my Sage server. The file plays back fine through other methods, such as on my iPad. But on Sage it is very herky-jerky or jittery.

Here is the detail that Sage gives on this file:

Format: Quicktime[H.264/1572Kbps 704x400@25fps, AAC/85Kbps@48kHz Stereo end]

Note the original source of the file is a TV recording, I believe from Australia - the logo shows: Fox Sports 2HD

Any way to try to fix this?

I get a similar situation. I recorded a TV show via SageTV (mpg), then manually removed the commercials with Pinnacle Studio HD 14. I then saved it as a mp4 and put it on our media server.

When it plays it is jittery...even if I back it up 15 seconds to add to the buffer.

HTPC system specs are below. Server is not running Sage as a server.
