HD300 Audio Question

I have my hd300 connected to my audio receiver with bitstream over hdmi. Movie playback sound is fine. When viewing internet content (ie. google or youtube videos) I get no sound. Do you have to change the audio output manually based on the source audio? i.e.

Digital PCM for stereo content
Digital Bitstream for Dolby Digital, DTS
Digital HDMI for HD audio

I guess I assumed I could pick the highest capability I have and it could down negotiate, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Any thoughts?

Can't believe no one has responded yet. I'll give it a stab; I'm not using HDMI but I dont' think I'm out on a limb.

You shouldn't have to set audio format to match input - it should be able to pass thru on the HDMI just fine.

You posted in the Media Extender category. Can you confirm you are using the HD300 to view content (either ripped movies or internet) streamed from your SageTV server box somewhere? If so, there may be options you need to doublecheck on both the server and the HD300 hardware configuration.

Also, if you haven't done so already, I'd suggest updating to the latest 'beta' firmware for the HD300. The manual tells how, but in short start up the unit in standalone mode (e.g. interrupt auto-connect to the Sage server, if you have that set up) and type 'beta' using the numeric keypad (single click per number) on the remote while in the 'check for updates page'. You'll know it took because the page will change to say something like 'check for beta updates'.
