Marking "watched" doesn't always prevent future recording?

Hey Guys,

I've been seeing some inconsistent behavior and not sure why or how to fix it.

Yesterday I was browsing the recording schedule by day and noticed some recordings coming up today that were set to be recorded but I had already seen them. I didn't want the recording to happen so I marked it as "watched". I have noticed the same behavior with marking things as "don't like" as well. It seems that sometimes the recording is NOT recorded but sometimes it is??? Also, I'm not like doing this 5 minutes before the show either... most times it is 12 hours or more. It is weird because sometimes it seems to work and sometimes it doesn't?

Has anybody else noticed this? I am correct in thinking that if I mark in the recording schedule something as "watched" or "don't like" that it shouldn't then record it, right? If so, how many hours in advance do you have to do this to make sure that it works... 12 hours or even a day doesn't always seem to be enough or work.

Try this FAQ:
Does SageTV know enough to record a show only once?

And, Don't Like tags apply to a specific airing; a Favorite can still record another airing of that episode.

Thanks, Andy. I have seen the FAQ behavior before... I have some favorite "key words" and a few shows in particular no matter how often I mark them as watched or how often they show up in my recordings (I've had 4 or 5 of the same show in my recordings before) they will always record again if it comes on again. I chalked this up to the fact that it must NOT be being given a unique ID.

But, the one I was talking about specifically was "Warehouse 13" which I'm all current on so I marked a show that was set to record early this morning as "watched" but it recorded anyway. BUT, to your point... all I really did was woke up this morning and noticed that it recorded. I did not check to see specifically if it was THE show I marked as watched so it is possible I did record a different airing. I'll pay more attention to that and see if that is what is happening. Thanks!
