Audio sync trouble

I have sagetv 7 server running on a q6600 3ghz cpu with 64 block formatted HD running on my lan. Placeshifter that I purchased in a sagetv software bundle has many problems the video playback is poor, it tears and the resolution isn't as high even with transcoding off. However, the most annoying problem is bad audio sync. I then tried the sagetv client trial and it runs great on my acer revo front end. I was under the impression that placeshifter and client was similar in capabilities but I have found out placeshifter is a poor second to client, and I am very disappointed in placshifters performance. I am sorry I paid good money for placeshifter.

Is there any suggestions on how to at least fix the placeshifter audio sync issue or am I going to have to throw more money at sagetv and purchase client?

I have turned on and off every setting available in placeshifter with no difference in the sync problem, is there anything I can do to the server to help?
