DVD Playback sometimes hangs UI on SageTV server

I have a library of ripped DVDs of which 80% play fine in Sage. For some of them they will play for a period of time and then freeze with the UI showing the spinning circle. Sage does not respond at this point and my only recourse is to restart the SageTV.exe process (I use service mode so the background process still runs). They hang in the same place every time and navigating to any time past the spot causes a similar hang.

These DVD's are in standard folders with 1gb vob files. I believe they are valid files because I can play them in various media tools on another machine (i.e. PowerDVD5 or WMP). I cannot play them using PowerDVD5 on my Sage server (it aborts) and WMP plays audio but no video. This tells me that the files are okay but the decoders Sage is using are having problems. I have PureVideo DVD decoders installed and set to be default but I could use some help on how to diagnose this further....?

- Windows XP SP3
- SageTV 6.5 in Service Mode
- XFX Radeon HD 4350
- Using RGB output from SageTV server to HDTV
