Sage 7 Upgrade With FireWire

Hi, folks.

Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I have been searching for some time, and can't seem to find an answer.

I have been running Sage 6 (currently 6.6) for some time, but am now feeling ready to update to V7. My understaing is that this is a pretty simple adjustment, but the one thing that worries me is that I am running FireWire tuning with two SA4250s and one SA3250. This took quite a bit of setting up (a couple of years ago), and has been working flawlessly, so I wanted to find out before starting if the upgrade will impact this. If it does, that won't stop me, but I will want to wait until my wife is away for some time before tackling it (want to maintain the incredibly high WAF).

Any input would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Shaun

I'm using FireWire with Sage7 and it works perfectly. I had no problems and it even worked after the upgrade with no changes.

Good to hear on that. Quick question... I've been out of the Sage loop for about a year and last I had messed with things there were no firewire capture drivers for Win7 x64. Still the case or did somebody come up with a new one?

There are still no firewire drivers for x64. At this point in the game there probably never will be.

Shaun - when you upgrade to Version 7, do not do a fresh install, just upgrade on top of you Version 6. That way, Firewire changing should not change.

BTW: I use Firewire changing and it worked.

Thanks, all. I conducted the upgrade today as suggested (without reinstalling), and it seemed to go very well. FireWire tuning worked perfectly from the start.

I've spent some time going through all the settings and have it pretty much sorted. One strange thing that happened is that one extender (HD300) kept reverting back to SageMC on a regular basis, even though this was not indicated in setup. I have uninstalled that plug-in and it hasn't happened for awhile, so I am hopefull that this is now resolved.

Thanks to all for the info.

Cheers,
Shaun
