confused about fanart
while trying to track down an odd SMM issue, I cam across a fan art thing that confuses me just a tad bit...
ok, so I have the movie angels & demons... BMT has all the metadata correct... but, for fanart it says the location is G:\FanArt\Movies\Gladiator does that seem right? I don't think that is right... does explain why the fanart always looked a bit odd to me... how do I fix that? should it be fixed? oh, and Alien as fanart = G:\FanArt\Movies\The Fifth Element I guess they are both alieny ish type movies... well they both have aliens in them... is this some sort of disk space saving thing? also, why doesn't either imdb or tmdb have a record for alien, it was a fairly popular movie in its time... but both say they can't find it...

So how are you arriving at the conclusion that Imdb or tmdb doesn't have Alien? Both of them do. You can go to either site search and find Alien. If you use the WebUI of BMT and search for these it should find them. It does look like those paths are wrong but if you go into those folders for Gladiator and The Fifth Element does it have fanart for Alien in it? By default BMT would create a folder based on the movie name and put the fanart there.

I found that by adding extra unneeded characters or removing spaces to the webui lookup name and getting rid of the date both would then find the movie data... as for the fanart folders, they contain fan art that matches their names... ie the 5th element folder contains 5th element fanart...

so does anyone know how to change the fanart folder for a movie? I guess I could go through and correct them manually if I had too...

The fanart folder is created from the Fanart Title field. Changing that changes the fanart folder. But it's still a manual process.
