I'm right there with you. I don't even watch the news anymore. What happened to "Today a dog saves a little girl from drowning". Now it is "today a little girl is in critical condition after being attacked by a dog". They used to say no news is good news. Now I think it is more like "if it isn't sad or horrible then don't air it".

Just this past Sunday, our local newspaper added an entirely new section devoted to ONLY good news. I can't recall what they named the section, but it was about 6 or 8 pages and was entirely "human interest" stories and stories about people doing good things in the city.

I didn't read it but I thought it was a good idea. We all can use a little positivity these days when everything we hear is bad....

On the topic of soap operas apparently One Life To Live and All My Children have been axed. Definitely a sign of the time. Now what will grandma watch?

My guess at the next TV genre to go the way of VHS and Soap Operas will be game shows. To be replaced by more and more and more and more stupid talk shows and judge shows.

Seriously, how does Wendy Williams have a TV show? A "keyword favorite" picked up her show one time (keyword person was a guest), and she's a complete trainwreck. My wife and I almost decided to start recording it because it was so hysterically, horribly BAD.

If this list is correct, TEN shows that we watched this past season, that were all new (and thus only lasted one season.... or less), have been canceled. Grrrrrrr......

Yea. I am not surprised but disappointed that both Outsourced and Mad Love got cancelled. Outsourced was just ok. It had some funny moments though. I was really getting into Mad Love. I'm disappointed it got canned.

I got sucked into the event. Isn't that good, but I'd like to know what happens. I liked perfect couples, it was pretty good.

NBC and FOX sure do like to cancel shows.

We watched all of those (though we had gotten bored with "Outsourced", "Perfect Couples" was very hit-or-miss, week to week, and "Mad Love" took way too long to get going), but we're really bummed about "Traffic Light" and "Breaking In". Both of those were really funny (or so we thought). "Breaking In"'s cancellation surprised us because (besides being funny) it had quite a few significant cameos for a midseason replacement that only ever got a few episodes - you would have thought that Fox was intending on making it succeed from the people they had on it. Poor Bret Harrison - Fox must really want him to do well - three shows on Fox with him now, all canceled ("The Loop" and "Reaper" being the others).

And props to "Breaking In" for a character wearing an "All your base are belong to us" t-shirt.
