Can I edit the .properties file directly?

I have a bunch of videos that I forgot to set the rating so it used the default of TVM

I'd like to edit the .properties myself and change the rating from TVM to TVY7 (this way I can write a script to do it for me and bingo--100's of videos go from TVM to TVY7 )

After I did that, eventhough the .properties file shows TVY7, bmt (and sage) see it as TVM

Is there anything I can do? Can I re-import the .properties file?

SageTV will only look the .properties when it imports the file the first time, OR if the timestamp on the mediafile has changed.

So, you options are to either unimport and then reimport the files, or update the timestamp on the files.

I am pretty sure a reindex rereads them as well no?

True it does... I never really use that option, since it will also force a refresh on ALL files, music, videos, pictures, etc.... so that's pretty much like dropping and re-adding all your sources.
