photo library response time = slow

I have some large libraries - 500 to 1000 photos per, stored on my Sage server. Even AFTER building thumbnails, the response is really slow, aka when you select a certain photo dir, the thumbnails just seem to be re-building themselves on screen, every time, from the start. Or at least that's what it feels like. Browsing is via the HD200.

If I just use Windows 7 and go into the same directory via a networked laptop, I can browse the photos MUCH faster.

What am I missing with Sage's photo browser to make it speed up, especially after the thumbnails have been built and you've already been through the dir before?

Try setting "ui/enable_hardware_scaling_cache=true" in the Sage.properties file. You will have to shutdown the SageTV service (if used) before you edit the file.

OK I made that change. On my server, the access speed seems to be quicker, however, when trying to access the photo libraries, ESPECIALLY large ones, it grinds to a halt when accessed through my HD200 media extender.
When accesing the same library of photos on my WD Live Plus, the experience is MUCH quicker.
So, what would be causing the delay when viewing photos via the Sage HD-200? It's really awful.

And if any of you helpful SageTV "professionals" are reading, which I know you are, I'd love to have some input from you, since there's NO SUPPORT PHONE NUMBER anyone can ever call. Just sayin'.
