One more vote for anything from Brother. My wife has an HP 8500 AIO which she really likes and has seemed decent enough when I've used it or she's had me change ink cartridges, but I love anything from Brother. I don't need an AIO, so I just use my HL-2270DW (though I do also have an Epson for what little photo printing I do).

As someone who is sick of dealing with paper filling, I'm interested. What model do you use? I see these scanners can get pricey in the line. I'd only need basic capabilities for home use.

I've always bought HP all-in-ones. Had about 4. Each one was successively WORSE. Buggy/bloated software. Bad build quality; fragile plastic. Poor user interface on printer.

When the most recent HP physically broke (prematurely) - I said, well, let's try a different one. Not Canon - been there, done that. Don't want rear/vertical paper feed. Jams.

This Epson Workforce 630 - greatest I've ever had. Good, lean/mean software on PCs. Networked printing and scanning works. Large capacity paper tray. Nice color LCD user interface. I use the heck out of the two-button-pushes to scan from the document feeder to any PC on the LAN - direct to PDF.

No more HP.

We don't do photo printing at home - Target's printers are much better, easier, cheaper.

I'm in the same boat with HP. They won't update the drivers on my old inkjet to 64bit, so now I won't buy any HP products.

We replaced that printer with a Canon. It's slower, and seems to use ink faster, but it's not HP. I bought a new monitor recently- Dell and HP had similar prices for IPS panels; I bought the Dell. I just ordered my wife a new laptop 2 days ago... the HP looked good; I bought an Acer.
