sorry, I can't help with you problem, but I just got to know,
have you actually tried adding the printer? maybe its got something good to watch? what kind of media does a printer receive anyway?

Many printers have memory card slots - think of a printer as a card reader. Sage seems to really want to ask you if you want to look for media whenever any type of new drive shows up on your system. I could swear that I have turned off this setting but it still shows the popup.

I am still reasonably sure that it is a clandestine HP secret plot to transmit media over networked printers...

I have a networked Brother mono laser printer for years but just added a networked HP C4700 printer.
Never a problem with the Brother printer. But I can't watch anything on my TV client for more than 10 minutes before SageTV asks me again if I want to play from/ share with/ etc. Ray |

I think wayner is right, if it has memory card readers built in then it will thinkg it's a place to import media files.
There's a setting in Sage to disable that action. Go to Detailed setup Click on Customize near the bottom is something that says "Display Popup when new drive is connected" Disable that.
