Home Videos Partially Showing

I just fired up 313. I noticed that the home videos link is working. In my case, only partially... BMT has been set with the home video exclusion for the import path. However, now I've noticed that only 2 of the sub folders are showing from that path when I click the home videos link...

Any ideas? This one’s got me.

I'm not sure... nothing changed in the java side of things... but do you mean from the web ui or the stv?

Also, I need to clean up the VFS files (not the Phoenix Ones, but the BMT ones) so that there is a single file. I'm seeing in my environment that I have 3 homevideos views... not sure where they are all comming form but I suspect that it's the duplicate bmt vfs that is causing the issue.

The home videos view doesn't show you the folder structure you have on disc - it groups by year, then by month. Do you think that might be what you are seeing?

hmmmm..... That could be. I'll have to take a look later. It did show 2 folders though... 2009 and 2011. I have folders dating back to 2003. All my pics are separated according to year.

Yep that was it.

Is there a way to have a different option(s) for the sort/group applied to this view?

The reason I say this is that the default group option is no good for me. I meticulously group my home pics and videos by year and by month already. I’d rather have it emulate my structure.

The reason I have all my home content structured the way I do is because if I edit an old photo or transcode/edit a video I want it to stay logically in the month year it was shot/taken...

As it stands if I edit a video from 2008 it now looks to be a 2011 video... I did a bunch of edits in January so I have 196 videos in January 2011, when they are basically everything but 2011 videos...

I’m sure a lot of people would prefer how you have it set as default. At the same time, I’ll bet there’s a number of folks like me that have an organization schema they wish to keep.

So if a person could toggle the way in which it’s displayed I think that would be great option.

IT's just a view like any other - if you can create a personalized home video view that shows it the way you want to you can point to that from the LandingZone.xml file instead of the default one.

I seem to remember some threads floating around in here about filesystem views and bookmarks / root that you can use to get a view of just a folder and it's children at some point in a well defined folder structure.

To future safe yourself you'd want to make a new fragment with your homevideos, and then probably hide the default one.

btl.
