Question HD300 defaults to 1080i, why?

Hello,

I have an HD300 hooked up to a Samsung LED TV I recently purchased.

I have the HD300 set to output 1080p and it is not set to change resolutions based on the video source. If the HD300 is powered on and off it will default to 1080i upon booting. I have multiple HD300s and this doesn't happen with other TVs.

Has anyone else experienced this before. Could the HD300 not like the Samsung TV (this is my first and only Samsung TV).

I haven't tried deleting the properties file yet on the server because I thought I pose this question online before trouble shooting.

Thanks for the help.

So when you first configured the HD300 you set it to DEFAULT to 1080p on the video screen using the Video Out button on the remote?

Will it switch to 1080P if you select it?

I selected 1080p under settings for video out. I don't think I have ever tried using the video out button on this tv.

Read the HD300 manual page 4 if you haven't already done that.

Thanks for the tip. I did that on my other TVs but I don't recall following those instructions on my new TV (I was too excited to get it setup I guess).

I will try that and see if it fixes the issue.

Thanks for the tip.
