I've run into heap exhaustion issues several times already. This is running on a single HD300 and a SageTV.exe process on the server as front end to the service. Heap max is up around 1300 MB.

But I run a lot of plug-ins (SJQ, IMDB, comskip monitor etc). Which is why I already had the max set so high before even installing Gemstone. Always hovering in the 650 MB range, with 1000+ MB peaks, but then running Gemstone for a day or two brings it up against the ceiling and the Java warnings start going off.

I'm on 6 r26.

Just thought I'd chime in to say that Gemstone does soak up much more java heap memory than diamond for my setup too. I haven't touched any of the flow caching options either. I noticed once the java heap reaches it's limit, it's not able to recover from that condition (discarding oldest cache for a little bit of headroom); things continue to run very slow. I'm using 1024MB. If I try 768MB heap size, java heap gets filled up very quickly; even on only a couple of clients.

I'm also having the heap problem I just had diamond deactivated not uninstalled so I uninstalled it yesterday. I will let you know if this make any difference I was getting an error message about diamond not being compatible with Gemstone on some of the extenders even though I had it disabled.

Something I've noticed that may or may not be related is that if you go into the system information screen and hit the stop button it does not free up memory and instead was continuing to grow every time I hit stop.

On a side note I then went to use the Restart SageTV plugin and noticed it doesn't show up in the menus. Anyone know how I can add that back or possibly get that integrated into Gemstone?

Team,

I have plenty of info to get this issue resolved and am working on a new release. Hopefully this week you will get a version that resolves these heap issues.
