PlayOn

All works well with this latest version except for PlayOn. It now indicates no available videos in any category. PlayOn was working fine with the previous test version.

There should be nothing in Gemstone that would stop the Playon listing from showing. I see this from time to time with or without Gemstone and usually a restart of my Playon service on my server gets things going again. Sometimes they just show up the next time I try to get the listing...

I noted the same thing last night. I also cleared the cache and switched back to classic Diamond and it works fine there.

Could it be some component doesn't get carried over into the new STV?

Unless there is some issue with us now using a STV rather than loading a STVi it should be fine. Are you both using the most up to date dev xml?

Nothing in Gemstone or Diamond is coded specifically for Playon. Playon just sits on top of them.

I still don't have a working system (bad drive) but hope to by tonight and I can have a look at Playon and confirm.

I do not use playon so I am not sure where to look for the issue. I believe there is already an Issue posted so if some of you can turn on debug and Gemstone logs to DEBUG mode then restart, recreate the issue and upload the logs (both the Gemstone.log and the Sage log) I can look and see what we broke.

Also... please post the steps you use to see the issue.

Thanks
k

I Restored back to Gemstone 014 and playon didn't work. I checked and found playon had an update available that wasn't available 1 hour ago. I installed it an playon now works with ver 014. I then installed 0162 thinking that it fixed it aswell but still no playon. I am including a sage debug log. I couldn't find the gemstone debug log. if you can tell me where it is I'll send it to you.

I'm seeing this too. Playon says no videos found. I'll try to get logs tomorrow.

Unfortuantely, me too. Checked that PlayOn server was alive and well. The iPhone app worked.

I would check the "logs" folder for the gemstone log. I think it may be in there (along with phoenix, sagex, bmt, etc)

I can't seem to get logging for Gemstone set to debug. It is set for info, but when I select debug, it doesn't save the setting. It is always back to info. Hence my Gemstone log is empty.

I uninstalled the Playon plugin and reinstalled. No change. Still no videos found.

EDIT: I just tried to change to any other level of logging and get the same. Always goes back to info.

Not sure what you mean. If you go into the Utility Menu, select Log Options and change the setting to DEBUG... are you saying the setting won't stay at DEBUG once you leave this menu and return???

The logs are stored in the SageTV/logs subfolder.

Yes, I am saying that the setting won't "stick." The log just shows the initial startup.

Is anyone else seeing this type of behavior?

I just tested this on a client, extender and a placeshifter and I can always change the setting.

Can you change other Gemstone settings? Perhaps for some reason the properties file is locked by the system? These settings are just written/read from the standard sage properties file so I am not sure what is happening on your system.

My playon also quit working with the latest release. Here are some logs.

I just started up the server and client, then waited a few minutes while I fed the cat. Then I tried to browse upnp and then browse playon. Then I went through the online services menu and tried the same things. At the end I even tried to get to the playon settings menu, which also doesn't work.

So when you say... tried to browse... what does that mean specifically. Is there a new menu item that you are expecting that is not there or do you launch a browse function somewhere in sage to see these items and there are none in that list.

Pretend I am a newbie at playon (I am) and give me the steps... pictures are always nice to.

Thanks

I stooped the service and started the "full" version of Sage. I was then able to turn on debugging for Gemstone.

Attaching the log file, as minimal as it is. I won't be able to do much more until later today.
