So when you say... tried to browse... what does that mean specifically. Is there a new menu item that you are expecting that is not there or do you launch a browse function somewhere in sage to see these items and there are none in that list.
When you install playon, you get a new menu item named "Playon" that has submenu items on it. One is "Browse Upnp" and another is "Browse Playon". Choosing "Browse uPnP" causes a dialog box "The video list is downloading" to present itself for about 2m, followed by a new screen that says "No videos were found". Choosing "Browse Playon" gives the same screen, but after about 3s.

Similarly, when you have playon installed and you go to the Sage Online Services menu, you see some additional items, such as Netflix, Hulu, etc. But you also see "Playon". If you choose "Playon", there is another screen of items "Browse Playon", "Settings", "Browse uPnP", and "Back". Choosing these items does the same thing as going to them directly from the Playon menu.

I can try to get some screenshots later today.

It is unfortunate that EP hasn't looked at this issue. Jusjoken doesn't know how the plugin works so he doesn't know what broke it and seems he can't fix it. I had suggested an enhancement that has been added in version .017, but if playon doesn't work than it is of no use to me. I really think Gemstone is incredible but for me playon is one of the most used features for me and without the support for it I am stuck using version .015 of gemstone which is the last version that playon worked. I very much appreciate all the work that has gone into gemstone, I just wish I could use it.

Same here. PlayOn has become a requirement in my household.

Sorry, been pretty busy lately. Loaded up the latest Gemstone (looking great!) and it looks like the issue has something to do with the way the current working directory is setup when we use Gemstone as an STV vs. STVi. (Its trying to load the temporary RSS feed from a path that exists but using a relative path that must not work from the directory its currently working from. ) I'll dig around this week and see if I can find an easy fix to get people going.

Now that Gemstone .017 Beta has been released I am really salivating. I would be really awesome if this playon issue could be resolved. I would be willing to pay for this. PLEASE fix this or give jusjoken an idea on how to fix this. Thanks.

is the Gemstone STV in the same directory as the SageTV7.xml stv file? If not, then move the gemstone STV to that directory, and Reload the STV from that directory. That might work.

The gemstone STVI is in the same folder as sage 7 stv. I also tried reloading the playon stvi and it still doesn't work.

The Gemstone.xml is in the same folder as the SageTV7.xml.

It is a direct result of loading the SageTV7.xml, importing the gemstone stvi changes and then renaming the result as Gemstone.xml.

Internally the STVName variable is left as SageTV7

We still need someone who uses Playon to prove if this issue is related to the Gemstone install method of using an STV or not

....so still waiting for someone to try out the extra option 2 solution I sent out (which is the same gemstone code but as a plugin and not an STV) so we can narrow this down.

Ok.... so that is actually good news as it means it is NOT the difference in the install methods BUT you stated here...

I Restored back to Gemstone 014 and playon didn't work. I checked and found playon had an update available that wasn't available 1 hour ago. I installed it an playon now works with ver 014. I then installed 0162 thinking that it fixed it aswell but still no playon.
that a version of Playon WORKED with 1.014.

Are you using the same playon version with 1.0172?

Are you sure it worked with 1.014?

Thanks

I just removed sagetv 7 and deleted the folder. I then installed sage 7. Installed gemstone .0172. Installed playon. These are the only things installed. I copied the playon menu item and rebooted. Still no videos for netflix or hulu. Also restarted playon server.

Do you have a copy of 1.014 to see if it worked with playon?

As well... To ensure menu manager is not causing the issue.. Go into menu manager, press options and set custom menu to OFF

Then the standard sage menus will display including those that playon adds.

I have 2 computers running sage 7. The main one is the sage machine I use every day. I have gemstone .015 on this machine and playon works. I then have this other system. It is my test machine. The one I do the beta testing with before I out put it on my main system. This is the one I just did a clean install with sage 7, the installed gemstone .0172 then installed playon. I also shut off custom menu and restarted the system just to be sure and I still get no videos with nexflix and hulu. I really appreciate you trying to diagnose this and if you need anything from me , just let me know what it is and I'll get it to you as quick as I can. I am doing this while working so it can take a few minutes before I respond. Thanks

I used to have that problem when playon needed to be update. Upgrading to latest version would resolve the issue.
