How do I change text color?

I'm running SageTV 7, I like the new interface but the darker colors make seeing imported video listings a bit of an eye strain. The folders and files are listed as a slightly brighter grey on top of a slightly darker grey background. The currently highlighted item is white and easy to see. How do I make all items (folders and files) bright white rather than grey?

In the sagetv/STV/sagevt7/themes/standard folder there is a "theme.properties" file. In that file (open with notepad) you will find several references to font colors. You will need to figure out what setting is for where in the UI and what the current colors are in HEX(? Can't recall off the top, of my head) then you can make adjustments. Another option to create your own sub theme that contains just the settings you want to override in its own "theme. properties" file (that points to the parent standard theme for the remainder of the settings) leaving the standard file in tact. Clear as mud

Sort of have to just dig in and play. There is a lot of documentation right in the standard theme.porperties file.

I changed every color code in the theme.properties to white and still the text for non-selected videos is grey. I also changed all the alphas to 110 and all the shadows to white, still have grey non-selected videos/folders in the imported videos area.

Please post a few screen shots of where you are seeing this.

Here is a screenshot of an imported video folder screenshot.JPG the selected video title is white, all the other videos are grey. I need them all to be white.

I'd have to look in the STV (can't right now), but the other video's MAY be white, but have a lower alpha setting.

I set all the alphas in theme.properties to 110, didn't change the grey text.

I think you need to look at ColorValue/gColorBasicBlack and gColorBasicWhite in the theme.properties file. One is the color used for selected text and the other is the color used for non-selected text. I'm going from memory so YMMV.

The font used for the whole list is hard coded to an alpha of 128 (0.5 or 50%) and then when it is highlighted (or focused) it is doubled in an animation widget by setting the alpha to 2.0 to make it white at 100% again.

Definitely will require more than just editing the theme properties file and font colors as the code is making changes directly to the fonts.
