Hmmm. I see it also boasts the 18mbit recording rates that the Colossus claims, and there is a PC connect mode for recording.

A couple of unboxing vids. The second vid actually shows it in use.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CYBrQSBP3o

Both are focused on the gaming side of course, but they do mention the mode of direct-connect to PC. It also looks like it gets power right from the USB input, so that at least eliminates the need for yet another power brick. No IR blaster of course, so you'll have to have the USB-UIRT. Hopefully this device can serve as a nice compact SageTV tuner.

It will be interesting to see how the audio is passed when the HDMI input is used.

Do you see anything on the official product page that suggests there is a driver for this device? Is it included somehow in the capture software download?

Did Newegg give you a delivery date on that thing? It seems like they are quite a bit farther out than other sellers.

Please expand on that explanation, and how you tested. It claims that when you save to PC, it saves in TS format.

That's depressing - is there anyone else that can give some insight on this, on how to check the test setup, or any potential workaround on getting Sage to properly start the device?

Is there not a command line tool to capture the video with? If so, seems like a perfect candidate for a network encoding solution if someone wanted to make one of these things work with Sage.
