My "production" server uses a SSD. I have two test machines that use spinners.

You can probably see where I'm going with that, regarding Jeff's mention of it taking his machine nearly a day for this "Carny" character to get his work done. It would be interesting to see a direct comparison of 13 years of history on spinner vs. SSD.

I doubt it makes a difference at all, as I'm pretty sure wiz.bin is loaded completely into memory.

The boot disk is a USB flash drive, then I have 4 x 3TB drives in a RAID 5 configuration for everything else.

Fuzzy is correct, HDD won't matter for Carny processing....I'm running on an Athlon XP 1800+ if that matters. (yeah, very old...but does the job)
