No timeline, extra mount in var/media

On ubuntu 14.04 server LTS - sagetv 9.0.4.252, HD200's

I have 2 problems.

1. All my imported videos are mkv containers, when played using the HD200's they show 0:00's on position and length on timeline, if I FF the video starts at the beginning, pause/start works correctly, however. I have HDHomeruns and the recorded shows (mpg) display correctly.

2. Looks like my OS disk is getting automounted by sagetv in /var/media as /var/media/external/sda1. I have a 6 disk RAID array and they get directories created in the same place but don't get mounted. There is no reason to mount anything by sagetv.

Are there any solutions for this please?

For your recordings stop the SageTV service. Run the touch command on all your recordings. Start your SageTV service. Once it finishes starting up the durations should be correct.

Thx! Touched one recording, no change in the timeline.

i had timestamp problems with ubuntu 14 and they were fixed by updating to the latest "consumer" in openDCT. check that you have the one that has "Trans" in the consumer name.

Thx but I don't have openDCT installed, not sure if I need it (?), I use ATSC on HDHomeruns and those mpg recordings work, it's the imported videos (movies etc.) that have the issue.

For 1, try going to Setup->Detailed Setup->Advanced->Rescan Existing Library Files; I'd expect that to fix the MKV issues. If it doesn't, post a SageTV log file from when you did the rescan.

For 2, set the following in Sage.properties and it'll prevent this from occurring (be sure to do this while SageTV is not running):
enable_hotplug_storage_detector=false

It looks like you don't actually have debug logging turned on. Do this:

1. Stop SageTV
2. Edit the Sage.properties file and set:
debug_logging=TRUE
debug_ffmpeg_format_info=TRUE
3. Start SageTV, reproduce again and post the log file

The first property will exist already, the second one will not, so you will need to create that one. And be sure to use uppercase TRUE for these two.

Done. Log attached.

Edit: I played 2 of my imported videos.

I have the same issue with mkvs.... But only externally authored mkvs. I assumed it was something with time codes in the mkvs.

I have not been motivated enough to resolve it.

In that log file I did not see you doing this part:

Try going to Setup->Detailed Setup->Advanced->Rescan Existing Library Files; I'd expect that to fix the MKV issues. If it doesn't, post a SageTV log file from when you did the rescan.

I need the log from when you do that.

Ineresting....had a Java update this morning to jdk-8u91-linux-x64 and now the timeline works for all MKV's! I believe I was on 8u77 previous.

(There was also an update for libsoup2.4-1)

I appreciate the time spent on this Narflex (Jeff)! - Thank you!

From that log file, it looks like the rescan operation fixed it because I can see it properly parsing the durations in there.
