HDHR Prime no video

I'm not seeing video from the HDHR Prime but do get audio. I selected a channel on Program Guide and no video. I do see video on QuickTV and via the Channel Setup Preview.

Using SageDCT.

Any ideas?

I see from your .sig that your provider is Comcast. Comcast has been upgrading their systems to encode video using .h264, which causes issues if you're using your HdHR Prime with SageDCT v2.6.0.

Solution? Either upgrade SageDCT to v2.7.3, or switch from SageDCT to OpenDCT (but be prepared to update your HDHR firmware if you go with OpenDCT).

Comcast went h.264 in my market over a year ago, so I upgraded to SageDCT 2.7.3. It's been running for over a year on 2 systems without any problems. This was long before OpenDCT was an option.

Thank you. Comcast sent a letter about that change, but I didn't put two and two together. I figured that I probably glitched something trying to make OpenDCT work, as is my normal MO. I'll try the Silicondust firmware update recommended in the other thread tomorrow AM.

Again, thanks for helping a willing but not very IT savvy user move forward.

I recently switched from SageDCT to OpenDCT. I had a similar problem. The solution was to upgrade the firmware on the HDHomeRuns.

Just to follow up; I updated the firmware on my Prime and it seemed to fix the problem, but afterwards the 2nd light on the Prime started blinking. Not sure what caused it, but after going through some Silicondust diagnostics and a few reboots the problem went away and seems to be working fine now.

After it starting working again, Silicondust responded to my trouble ticket and responded with the recommendation to update the software to a new version dated 11-07-2016. Their response referenced the HDHR software rather than just the Prime firmware and I'm not sure I understand the difference. Since the Prime was working and I could not find any reference on this site to the new version, I just left it. Time will tell, I guess.

This experience showed me that I do not understand how channel scanning should be done for the Prime
Does scanning in the HDHR software break the lineup on Sage?
Does scanning in Sage break the lineup on Sage?

It would be great if the tuner hardware sticky could be updated to include the Prime.

Generally the software versions coincide with firmware versions. If you open the software and any of the devices it finds have older firmware than what the software has available, it will upgrade their firmware immediately. I believe you can also get the firmware on it's own, but it is generally more work to go that route.

If you are using OpenDCT to tune the HDHomeRun Prime, running a channel scan on the Prime will not break anything.

I am using OpenDCT with the beta software. Has OpenDCT been tested with the 11-07-16 update?
