Setting up new epg guide
I am one of those users that has a simple sage tv setup that has not been touched in 4-5 years. All I do with it is record and play shows on it. I am running sage tv 7 and I have been reading thru all of these post about updating the guide and seem to be getting lost in all of the bits and pieces.
Is there a step by step guide some where to update sage 7 to a new epg? I would like to just do an update to my current sage 7 setup because this fall I wanted to build a new machine and put 9 on it. Thanks Wayne

First sign up for a free trial Schedules Direct account, then backup everything in the sagetv install directory and install v9.

This isn't a guide on how to transition, but it does detail out anything you likely would want to know about setting up Schedule Direct on v9.

On the Schedules direct setup I selected Standolone / JSON / Sagetv-Sdepg
Is this correct?

yes, though I don't think that 'setting' does anything but let schedules direct know who's using their service for what. You really don't need to do anything on their website but sign up and set up billing. Everything else will be configured entirely from within SageTV.

Well I bit the bullet tonight and installed Sage V9. I thought I would have some problems, but nothing major.
I setup my lineup for over the air local channels and when I look at the guide there is a channel 1 and there is 5 of the old analog channels that are not used with there new hd channels. I have looked at the schedules direct lineup in sage and do not see these channels in there. How do I get rid of these non used channels? Also when I setup my satellite hdpvr lineup. The over the ota lineup is showing for that tuner. When I delete that lineup, it deletes it for all the other tuners. I would think that you only what one lineup per tuner. Thanks Wayne

If you've got multiple satellite lineup, that lineup should be used for all your sat tuners. Your ota lineup would be used for all your ota tuners.
If you are trying to find out where a channel is configured from, there is a channel manager screen that helps with this. From the guide, hit options (ESC if using a keyboard), and from there choose 'Channel Manager'. This screen will list all in all your lineups, and allow you to configure them together there.

Thanks for the info Fuzzy, I found the channel config after posting that question( Walking away for awhile and coming back does help once in a while )
But I am still having trouble with the tuners showing 2 lineups. My 2 satellite tuners also show over the air lineups and my 4 over the air tuners also show the satellite lineups. I have deleted the ota lineup out of the satellite source and it deletes from all of the tuners. SD is now telling me I have only 2 lineups left. I am using the trial at this point. So I am not sure how to get 1 lineup on each tuner as it should be.

A given encoder (source/tuner) can only be assigned to one lineup. Are you sure the tuner has more than one lineup? Where are you seeing this information? (the lineup assigned to a tuner will display on the right hand side of the source details screen).
I think you might be seeing it in the section where you choose which schedules direct lineup to use for a given tuner - that screen will show you all the lineups you have configured on your account, it doesn't show you which one is assigned to that tuner (that will be set when you choose one of them).
