future java updates for Windows

What is the status of java in sagetv as browsers move away from user updates to built in updates. where does that leave our program?

Java in the browser and java on the server/desktop are completely unrelated. Even die hard Java developers, such as myself, can't be happier that Java in the browser is dead, but it has zero impact on how java is evolving on the server/desktop. So, in short, nothing changes for sagetv.

Java 9 is slated to be released in a couple months, and there'll likely be a java 10 following that, etc. Given that Android also uses Java, I don't have any fears about it being replaced. Java is still the #1 programming language today.
