I signed up with openweather and received my key. Hopefully someone smarter than me will chime in on how to replace darksky and use this key. My coding skills are non existent.

I am looking into this, but am in the same boat as you. I did try out the api through my Nextcloud instance. It is pretty cool. Maybe we can add access via Nextcloud under online Services? Unfortunately we will have to wait on a developer to take up the cause.

I tried following the instructions on the first post to install this plugin as I assume it should work for USA Zip Codes. However, the zip file seems to be reaching out to Bintray which is no longer available. Is there another way to load this these days? If not, I have a 64bit windows sagetv client installed on a client machine which has this installed and appears to be working. Can I copy the plugin from that machine to my Docker SageTV system somehow?

What are the current options to restore weather functionality?
I'm just getting the 0 degrees reading.

There was no fix per se, the last time I reported it. It was fairly intermittent and eventually returns to normal use. We couldn't nail down where the error was coming from.

EDIT: I was wrong and remembered incorrectly that no progress had been made. @jusjoken has the right answer below. Apologies to all.

I've uninstalled the existing weather plugins (Google and tmiranda), and went looking for the package to install.
Your post says:

In my SageTV system, under "All Available Plugins" and "Full UI" group, I see six options. Two are Phoenix, and the others are SageMC, SageTV 2 UI, SageTV 3 UI, and SageTV 7 UI

Are you referring to the last one "SageTV 7 UI - for use with V9). As a full UI replacement, can I be confident it will not change any existing behaviors or settings, other than adding the Weather capability?

Also just to be clear, you say

Create a file in the root SageTV folder called owmkey.properties

For the 64 bit SageTV, that would be
"C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\owmkey.properties", right?

If you are already using a SageTV version 9.2.6 or higher then the UI already contains the new weather so the full STV is not needed. If you are not moving to 9.2.6 or higher, then the STV UI you found is the right one.

That full UI you found is identical to the UI in 9.2.6 so yes, you can be confident in using it.

And yes... That is the correct location for the owmkey file.

Note... The new weather is delivered as an update to the Google weather plugin you uninstalled... So go ahead and install that again and update it if needed.
