IMDb Search Failures-DbFailureException
I am seeing IMDb search failing. It was a gradual thing over the last month. Within the last few days it fell off a cliff and now fails all the time. Previously, I could retry 2, 3, or 4 times and get it to work. The message I get, for the movie Lizzie (2018) is

IMDB search failed searching for title Lizzie
net.sf.sageplugins.sageimdb.DbFailureException:
Failed to find search results content in https://www.
imdb.com/find?s=tt&mx=200&q=Lizzie
at:net.sf.sageplugins.sageimdb.ImdbWebSearch.

Back to Main Menu

I am seeing no messages in the SageTv log that helps me understand the problem. To try to debug, I found, in sage.properties the following 2 entries
metadata/imdb_debug_logging=false
and
metadata/debug_logging=false
I set them to true, retried and it did not expand the messaging much.

I am on Java 11 Dockers for both of my servers, and see the same results on both. Attached are the lines of the log from a failed attempt to search IMDb.

Am I the only one seeing this? Is there anything I can to do debug the issue?

IMDB have done a rewrite of the website, so the plugin does not work

Is there any plans to push out a fix for IMDB? It's one of my absolute favorite features of the last several years.

I would certainly kick in some cash for someone to fix this, thanks!

It is not as easy IMDB became Freevee... so they are probably totally different now.

Not exactly a walk in the park. Basically, the IMDB webpage is completely different, so the plugin will need rebuilt from the ground up.

Man that's so disappointing. My favorite Sage feature when I'm watching a show..."What was that guy in?" Then 1/2 hour later reading about 20 other shows and trivia...

My workaround is having an Android tablet next to me when I watch TV. Unfortunately, the IMDb Android app has its own quirks that I find annoying. The only plus is that I can keep the video going while searching IMDb. With Sage, I usually paused the video.

Where's the source code for the plugin? Is it in Sage's Github or somewhere else?

definitely was one of my favorite plugins as well. I think something like this was unique to SageTV.
