Looks like it's supported by MCE2k5, so it's most likely a hardware encoder. Now if it'll work with Sage, no clue, but looks promising...

no SageTV doe snot support that card only MCE will work with it

I think main reason why there no 3rdparty support is becuase the "Compression of audio in the MPEG format so that LSI Logic DVxplore is not in real-time" so the audio is compressed in software not hardware.
