Inconsistent Dish 301 w/Haup IR Blaster

OK, I've been watching for a few days and finally think I've got a handle on this situation. But I will require someone with a bit more experience to see if I'm nuts.

I have a Dish 301 that I'm driving with a Hauppauge IR Remote Blaster. This appears to work just fine during testing on all number formats 1 digit to 4 digits. I've got it nice and slow and I've driven it from my "old box" (yeah, a tivo) for two years.

BUT - here's the weird part. Watching how things go I find that it appears that my system is actually trying to tune the channel more than once and it will mess it up - dropping the first digit is the most common issue. When I turned off my Sage Service it seemed to stop happening - but I didn't look hard enough. I've got a successful recording rate of about 50% right now. I've actually seen it start recording a 1 hour show and then 1/2 an hour into it see it try to tune another station for a program that does not appear on the recording list.

Two questions:
Anyone with a good solid reliable timing numbers for the Hauppauge IR Blaster?

Anyone ever seen this kind of behavior?

Yeah, I'm new. It shows huh?

Try add to your IR file RepeatCount 10

Good call - One thing that people might want to know is that with the Hauppauge IR Blaster and a 301, it will use the StubDefault.ir file.

It seems to have killed the channel tuning reliablity. And since I've turned off the service - which I would much rather use - I've not seen any strange tuning in the middle of shows yet.

JVC301.ir file

I am using a Hauupage PVR-350 with a USB-UIRT. I have a jvc301.ir file that works pretty well.

When I first tired using the USB-UIRT, with the PVR-350 remote, I had a lot of trouble trying to find the right combinations in the IR file.

I also obtained a IR Helper program from a member of the SageTV forum.

The IR-files.zip contains the jvc301.ir and lrnhelper.exe files.

Please let me know if the jvc301.ir file helps, or you are able to improve it's reliablity.

Actually, the "RepeatCount 10" added to the StubDefault.ir file really solved the problem. I wasn't using a specific Dish301 ir file.

But thanks for the pointers.

Dish Network JVC301 Repeat count

Does the repeat count 10 seem to work perfiectly?

Once in awhile SageTV records the wrong channel. Is the repeat count of 10 is more relable than repeat count 5 with the JVC 301 recieiver?
