I'm assuming you will need one that supports CLI? I'll start looking. Thanks
JUC

okay, found this one---looks like it can do CD/DVD burning---possibly ripping but not sure. I also believe it supports CLI as it is replacing DVD decrypter.

Command line CD ripping is available in CDrecord:

Specifically you want cdda2wav:

I've been googling all day, and I can't find any CLI that has built-in CDDB (or freeDB) support. It's really not worth doing unless you can get that metadata automatically.

Turning out to be more difficult than I originally thought...

I've got the latest, but don't see anyplace that I can get any type of IMDB data.. or perhaps I have done something wrong!!!

I downloaded, extracted the latest .stv then when and selected it from the 'advanced' area of the settings on my SageTV4 Clients..

Where exactly can I get access to the IMDB option?

Thanks!

IMDB integration is generally always in the Options menu. Check out the first post for some good screencaps of most of the STV which should include the IMDB menus.

You can use it two ways. Enable My Menu and it will be a menu item on the main menu to the dynamic menu, or you can set the property to use the dynamic menu in place of the normal main menu.

mlbdude/dynamic_main_menu=false

Anyone got any new themes? I see MediaPortal has some other mods to some themes. Should be easy to create a new theme.

I like that new one with the slate tones, and the yellow old school icons. Pretty cool. If only I knew how to make the themes...

Media Portal themes work pretty much out of the box for SageMC.

1. Copy the SageMCE\Images folder to a new folder and name the folder as a new them. Ex. Images_NewTheme

2. Then copy in the images from the media portal theme into this new folder and overwrite any existing images.

3. Add some new lines to your properties file for the theme. The default ones are below:

ui/themes/0/image_root=Images_MC
ui/themes/0/title=MCE
ui/themes/1/image_root=Images_bt
ui/themes/1/title=BlueTwo
ui/themes/2/image_root=Images_bt_m
ui/themes/2/title=BlueTwo Blue Steel

So a new theme may be:
ui/themes/3/image_root=Images_my_theme
ui/themes/3/title=My New Theme

5. In order for the SageMC UI to show a preview of the theme in action, take a screecap of SageMC running this theme and place it in your theme folder and call it preview.jpg.

Pretty simple

Hmm...that sounds easy enough. I think that's the least I could contribute to help with this. I'll give it a try, and post some screen captures when I get a chance. I assume I'll just have to zip up the files, and send them to you, when finished. My screen captures will be with an SDTV though, but that's what you guys are stuck with... =)

That would be great. I would love to start offering seperate theme downloads for users. It would be great if we could find some artists to make us some new ones too.

I agree. I'll at least try some of the ones from MP, and see how those go. I'm not much of an artist though, however, there are tons of themes over there. It seems strange that they have so many people working on themes, and it's like no one wants them with SageTV...

Okay, so I downloaded a theme from the site you pointed me to, and it's a .rar file extension. Got any clues as to what I do with that?

Download winrar or other decompression tools and extract the files.
Rar is just like .Zip in that sense.

Cheers

Thanks, Mark. Is WinRAR like Winzip, in the fact, that after the 40 day trial, you can still use it, but with the annoying register screens? Maybe there is a free tool?

Edit: Found a free tool. It's called ExtractNow.

Here is my first pass at converting a theme. It needs a preview.jpg (widescreen would look best, which I don't have). If mlbdude wants to provide the preview picture, I can add it to my zip file later, or mlb can just rezip it and host his new zip file, whatever works. I also left the hp_start.png as the animal, as the "start" hp_start.png file was slightly covered up by the yellow bar used to highlight the menu options, on the main menu.

Keep in mind, this looks only similar to the one on MP. I guess, the layout inside of SageMC is fixed, and it just uses the names of the files as to where they are located on the UI. Maybe sometime, I'll be able to figure out how to make it look more like the MP theme, however, that probably requires some core changes to the STV, I imagine...

Well, I'm out of town for the rest of the weekend. See you later.

Add these lines to the properties file:

ui/themes/3/image_root=Images_bm_m
ui/themes/3/title=BlackMyst Mod

Extract the attached file to the following folder location:

\\Htpc\sagetv\SageTV\STVs\OriginalV2\SageMCE (or similar)

Images_bm_m.zip
