Move over LCD & Plasma - Here comes Nano Tech!
Very interesting, Motorola says they can make these for under $400 for a 40" Flat Panel! On top of that they claim the quality is even better then Plasma and LCD!

The real questions that come to mind is can it do Multi-Sync "Multiple Resolution Modes" and what the Response Time and Refresh Rates like 85Hz which I like the best on PC CRT and let not forget about OLED which also pettey cool Technology as well but it heard it cost lot to make vs LCD rigth now well can only hope NED technology dose cost less like Motorola is saying 40" for $400 but key word they said estimate that so there guaranteed it will cost that.

They estimated they could make it for less than $400. That probably means a consumer price in the range if $1,000 to $1,500 to cover R&D, marketing, etc... Heck, as long as plasma and LCD's are $2,500+ they may price them in the low $2,000 range.

I would doubt that they would be that expensive. I can see them being sub $1000 TVs. The reason LCD is so expensive is because the process to make them is more costly, especially as the screen size increases.

They'll sell them at whatever they think the market will bear. Any new product comes out at a fairly high price-point to recoup R&D costs.

Or they can take the Walmart/Dell approach. Sell more for less. They'll have a much larger market to sell to being that few people want to spend $2000+ for an HDTV.

When they say that a panel could cost less than $400, does that include the electronics, the casing, the packaging, etc?

They said they Manufacturing cost of the TV could be less then $400, so yes all that stuff would be included.

Well if I got all the fact rigth LCD vs NED.
LCD manufactured are not very cost-effectively in fact it very high at lease 75% more vs NED technology, so if what Motorola is says is ture then that being the cost-effectively come down to more a long the line of CRT so we should see consumer price in the range of $1,000 if not less vs LCD $2000 avg price at the same screen size base on on info giving by Motorola. Rigth now they have find to being the cost the after all 70% of avg consumer cannot afford to buy thoses cost TV set why do you think HDTV is take so dran long. Stop think about people when avg joe walk in a store he check the price let say he look at HDTV 30" screen size at some major store a base avg CRT TVs $800 vs LCD $1500 with build in HDTV Tuner but about 65% of time they used just end getting 4x3 27" for under $300 becuase they can't afford thoses high price work min wage job. It's all speculation, but this review indicates that we could be seeing 40" NED tvs for $800 or less by 2007.
