HP Media Cneter PC support question

I recently purchased the HP M7170n Media Center PC. In the device manager it states the tuner card as being a WinTV PVR PCI II (26xx) device. But when I go to the HP website and search for updates it only has drivers for the Conexant Falcon II TV Tuner . Is this the same tuner board with a different name? If so, how do I find out which version it is? 150, 250, mce or not?

My other question is that I intended to give my SageTV server to my brother and install this tuner card if it is supported and I was wondering if the blaster that came with my HP would also work in SageTV? From what the manual says it is both a transmitter and receiver.

1. I don't think this is a Hauppague card so it's not going to be a 150, 250, etc. It may be an Avermedia card but you need to find out what card it actually is.

2.The receiver and remote the comes with that machine would be a MCE remote and receiver. Sage should support the remote but not the transmitting.

Well, just to be different, , I'm going to say that if device manager says PVR PCI II (26xx) that it's 150MCE (do a search for PVR PCI II (26xx) and you'll see what I mean).

I believe you. I did a quick search for that on google, and it came up with 150MCE discussion.

Conexant Falcon II reference design is featuring the CX23416 MPEG Encoder and CX25843 A/V Decoder so there for it the same as WinTV-PVR 150 or MCE or I.p. model.

Just in case you hadn't seen it, the list of Information Resources for Remotes, Receivers, and IR Blasters has a couple links for more MCE remote usage info. (near the bottom)
