Best way to Extract MP3 from Video
Does anybody have a fast, and easy solution to extracting audio from recorded TV to MP3 or even WAV audio files?
I am looking at recording the audio channels on DirecTV and saving the audio to my music folders.

dgindex (part of dgmpgdec) to demux the MPEG-1 Audio from the MPG and then besweet to transcode it the MPA to MP3...
Or use autogk (which uses those tools anyway) but cancel it after it has demuxed and re-encoded the audio... (warning: autoGK contains adware -- but it can be manually uninstalled) (download from http://www.doom9.org/)

As part of the process of making ringers for my cell phone, I use the Video mp3 Extractor from GeoVid to extract the audio. Pretty quick and easy.

So far it looks like DGIndex and Audacity are the free winners for me. DGIndex exports the file pretty quickly, where it appears to be a straight MP3(MPEG1 Layer3) then Audacity picks it up from there, with no issues. Then I just cut the individual songs out, and I'm done!!
