Idea for new customization - Sleep Timer

Last night I wanted to go to bed while Sage was playing from my music library and found myself wishing it had a sleep timer.

The plugin/import could be so customizable as to have the ability not only to either stop playback/sleep sage/standby the computer/turn off the TV or run a macro to turn off all the equipment. Could also have a volume fade feature that could either slowly turn down the volume over the last 5 minutes or user configurable time of the sleep timer either by turning down the PC volume or sending IR bursts to your receiver.

Just figured I'd plant the seed in case anyone is feeling creative and wants to develop the ultimate sleep timer

BTW I know this thread http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/show...ht=sleep+timer has a sleep timer but I'm hoping for something much more integrated and configurable.

I saw a relatively old one somewhere on the forum. It wasn't integrated in the UI. It never worked for me. It would be nice to have this feature and map it to my SageTV remote.

Make sure it pops up an "I'm turning off now" warning, allowing you to extend the sleep timer. Something like the "I'm about to change channels" warning.

But it would have to eventually go into sleep mode.

Absolutely. If the user doesn't respond to the "I'm shutting down now/soon" box, then it would assume that the user wants it to shut down (i.e. is asleep, or away, or just ready for it to turn off) - just like the changing channel warning.
